What is the difference between TamilSWeb Directory and TamilSWeb Beta Search?

TamilSWeb Beta search is a search engine that searches from sites crawled using "TSWEB crawler". The search results returned by this search is not controlled by anyone. We use a unique algorithm to produce matching results based on your keyword.

TamilSWeb Directory is a searchable directory maintained by Us. Each site found in our directory is verified and added. Note: This does not guarantee content is same as it was at the time of verification and this may lead to broken links and misguiding sites. From time to time we fix broken links and verify sites contents, but this can never be accomplished perfectly. TamilSWeb directory has sites categories into main categories and then to subcategories and further to more in some cases.

So what is the difference between TamilSWeb Directory and TamilSWeb beta search?

1.Every sites found in TamilSWeb directory is added by us or submitted by webmasters. In the case of beta search, TSWEB Bot crawls sites and adds it to its database.

2. TamilSWeb directory provides clean sites(majority) but number of sites it searches from is much smaller. TamilSWeb beta search has more sites (or pages) and gives link to directly to pages instead of site(home page).

TamilSWeb beta search compared to Google! For any crawler to such as TSWEB Bot or Google Bot to work before it starts crawling there is set of starting urls given so that it start following links from somewhere. This set for google is world wide web. For TSWEB Bot this set is from Tamil related sites. Therefore our search results should and will provide better matching and more tamil related sites than google will.
